
Flamin Grillas was born after a random Christmas present was gifted to Chris wayyyyyyy back in 2014. Back then in Australia, American BBQ was relatively unknown. There was no YouTube tutorials, no real ability to watch and learn from some of the greats.
Website instructions were the only guidance, and in typical fashion – not something that Chris was going to follow….. so needless to say the first couple cooks were, lets say – the dog even avoided!
Trial and error, and more trial and error, we started out using commercial flavours from some of the local talent – but we found it just wasn’t hitting the spot, so more trial and error went into testing new flavours and rubs for us to cook and how to cook all types of food.
After years of practise, and testing and tasting – Flamin Grillas has grown into the company you now love to eat!
Along the way we’ve picked up a bevy of awards that’s made us even more inspired to create that ‘ahhhhh’ moment when you take that first mouthful of food from us. Some of these awards are Australian Caterer of the Year, Best Hospitality & Events Small Business, Best Takeaway, Australian Small Business of the Year Finalist (twice!). And the creme on top – Best All Purpose Rub.
